Professional Bio

Hi, I’m Jesse, a therapist at Denver Mental Health Collective. I am passionate supporter of those navigating sobriety, grief, trauma, overwhelming emotions, and relationship difficulties. I believe that with mindful acceptance, self-compassion, effective boundaries, and regular practice, we become more adaptive, flexible, and equipped to handle life’s stressors. I believe in the power of patience, empathy, and humor, and I work to facilitate a therapeutic environment based on trust, honesty, and safety. My goal is to meet you where you are, at your own pace, and in a manner that demonstrates respect for your personhood and experiences.

Why I do this work

I am passionate about this work because it sheds light on strength, resilience, and perseverance in shadowy places. This work allows me the opportunity to brighten the horizon and help others do the same.

Best part of my job

The best part of my job is the genuine connection that occurs when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable. It feels like catching lightning in a bottle!

Beyond the therapy room

I am a self-proclaimed dork, video game enthusiast, and Lego collector. I’m an indoor boy who loves cinema, well-crafted stories, and lazy days on the couch. Steering-wheel karaoke and walks with my dog, Kida (who knows I’m a sucker for her big brown eyes), are some of my favorite ways to unwind. I love to watch nature documentaries and stand-up comedy because sometimes I need to remind myself that life is both bizarrely picturesque, magnificently peculiar, and remarkably weird!
