Hello! My name is Barb. I’m a therapist here at Denver Mental Health Collective, but you can also call me a Self Concept Navigator, Trauma Healer, and a Mindful Mentor. I work collaboratively with my clients by utilizing a trauma-informed approach coupled with. I aim to provide a space where clients can work towards self discovery by understanding how their past has influenced their present.
My ideal clients are adults or adolescents struggling with anxiety, negative thoughts about themselves, or struggles with maintaining healthy relationships. These things may be due to traumatic experiences, which is why I always place importance on utilizing a trauma informed approach.
Self Concept Navigator
Do you struggle with knowing who you are? Do you struggle with negative beliefs about yourself? These are areas that many people struggle with, you are not alone.
I work with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns about themselves. By identifying and challenging these thoughts, clients will then have the space to explore who they really are. I aim to help clients through the process of self discovery, not just identifying and challenging negative thoughts.
Trauma Healer
Is there a specific event or time in your life that you find yourself thinking about consistently? Do you feel as though this event affects your identity and relationships? By utilizing a traumainformed approach, I provide a safe space for people to discuss their trauma and recognize how it impacts their current state. I will work with you to bridge the gap between your past experiences and your present self.
Mindful Mentor
Do you find yourself constantly thinking about the past or future? Do you find it difficult to be present? It can be easy to get trapped in a cycle of anxiety and “what ifs”. If my clients struggle with these thought patterns, we work through them together, while also practicing mindfulness based skills to bring us back to the present moment.
