Kyle Woodson, MA, LPC

Hey! I am Kyle Woodson. I’m a therapist at Denver Mental Health Collective, but you can also call me a Thought Technician, Distortion Destroyer, & Values Virtuoso.

I help people with harsh inner critics build confidence and discover their superpowers.

My ideal clients are individuals who are searching for ways to overcome challenges created by racial, sexual, and social inequities.

Thought Technician:

Is your mind bullying you?

I know exactly how you’re feeling. We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with messages of not being good enough, not being smart enough, not being thin enough, not being _____ enough. I want to help you get your life back by teaching you how to stand up to your inner bully.

Distortion Destroyer:

What is your story?

I believe that everyone has a superpower. One of the main reasons we develop mental health issues is when we become the villains in our own stories. Sometimes we view ourselves through a distorted lens. By breaking the glass, we can rewrite your story and rewrite your life.

Values Virtuoso:

Do you feel lost?

When confronted with messages from social media, news, advertisements, and our peers about who we “should” be, it’s easy to feel lost. You are not alone. By using tools to connect with your values, I will help you discover meaningful ways to navigate the complexities of an ever-changing world.

Education & Training

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Colorado Denver.

At the University of Colorado Denver I studied the impact of multiculturalism in mental health. I used this knowledge at Children’s Hospital Colorado and The Eating Recovery Center to support children and adolescents battling eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, and many other challenges.

With years of experience perfecting techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion Focused Family Therapy and Family Based Treatment I am prepared to support you in achieving your goals.

More About Me

We will get to know each other in therapy but in the meantime:

I am a gay African-American male. I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and was raised in a military family. I discovered soccer when I was four years old and this became one of my greatest passions. I was a collegiate athlete and I continue to play as much as I can.

When I am not destroying distortions or playing soccer I enjoy reading, playing sports, hiking, skiing, watching TV, and trying new things.

Please contact our office today to schedule a free phone consultation. During this time our Client Care Coordinator can talk more about what’s going on and how I can help you feel better.
