Hello!. I’m a therapist here at Denver Mental Health Collective, but you can also call me a Negative Thoughts Nixer, Coping Skill Creator, or Trauma Trouncer.
My ideal clients are kids and adults recovering from trauma.
Coping Skill Creator
Are you struggling with intrusive thoughts triggering your trauma? Are you feeling as though you don’t have the information, skills, or support you need? Together we can build a set of skills for you to cope with your everyday life.
Negative Thoughts Nixer
Does anxiety force you to not follow through with planned activities, reduce your desire to socialize, or keep you from applying for that promotion at work? Negative self-talk can keep you from trying new things and feeling confident in your interactions with others, and second-guessing all of your decisions. I can help you challenge those thoughts and be the confident person you deserve to be.
Trauma Trouncer
I can help reduce that anxiety so you can do the activities and participate in everything that currently makes you anxious. I use a therapy called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). It works well for future events as small as going out with friends to singing on stage. I help trauma survivors untangle trauma and pain and learn to cope and find joy. I also help all people in the LGBTQIA community including parents and siblings.
I also provide supervision for L.P.C. candidates.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
I received my masters degree in counseling psychology from Regis University in 2002. I received my B.A. in Sociology from SUNY Geneseo in 1988.
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2005 and have worked with children as young as four and seniors as old as 100+. EMDR and trauma work are my specialty and I enjoy helping clients neutralize their trauma.
In my spare time I sing in an LBGTQIA chorus and I enjoy spending time with my animals. My dog is a goofball!
