Nikkita Stonner, MA, LPC

Hello, I’m Nikkita and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Clinical Director at Denver Mental Health Collective, where I oversee day-to-day operations, provide clinical support to our therapists, and lead our student training program. In addition to my leadership role, I work directly with clients as a trauma-focused therapist for adolescents, adults, and overwhelmed parents.

While my title may say Trauma Therapist, many of my clients know me as a Trauma Healer, Parenting Powerhouse, and Anxiety Wrangler.

Whether I’m supporting clients, mentoring therapists, or guiding students entering the field, my work is grounded in compassion, accountability, and a belief that healing happens best when people feel truly supported.

I provide therapy both virtually and in person at our Denver office.

Trauma Therapist

Have you experienced a life-altering event that left you feeling unlike yourself? Are you angry, sad, confused — or exhausted from battling intrusive thoughts and unwanted memories?

After trauma, daily life often feels heavier. Relationships change. Work becomes harder. Even moments of rest can feel disrupted. What happened to you is not your fault, and you don’t have to navigate the aftermath alone.

I can’t make it so that it didn’t happen — and I wish that I could—but I can help you understand what happened and how it’s impacting your life now. Together, we’ll work through the sadness, anger, and fear so they no longer control you. Healing doesn’t mean erasing the past; it means learning how to live fully again, even with the scars.

This work can be hard, but I will never give up on you. You deserve support as you begin the next chapter of your story.

Parenting Powerhouse

Parenting is hard.
If your once-little miracle feels less miraculous lately…
If you feel helpless, overwhelmed, or stuck in constant power struggles…
Welcome. You’re not alone.

I work with parents who feel disconnected, exhausted, or unsure how to regain a sense of calm in their home. I don’t believe in bad kids—sometimes families just need guidance, structure, and understanding during difficult seasons.

Here’s what I promise:

I will never judge you.
We’ll make meaningful changes together, at a pace you can manage.
I’ll help you communicate more effectively, set boundaries, and reconnect with your child.
You can break free from cycles of reacting to tantrums or rebellion.
Parenting doesn’t have to feel like a constant battle.
I’ll help you build practical skills that fit your family’s lifestyle—because it doesn’t have to get worse before it gets better.

Anxiety & Depression Support

I support teens and adults struggling with anxiety and depression in finding relief, motivation, and a stronger sense of self.

When anxiety decreases and motivation returns, self-esteem improves and the future feels more manageable. Your experience is valid, and I want to hear all of it.

Sometimes our sessions may feel like venting—but I hear that as insight and self-expression. By understanding the roots of your worries, fear, and sadness, we can work together to help you feel more like you again and reconnect with the parts of life that matter most.

Leadership, Supervision & Training

As Clinical Director, I manage the daily operations of Denver Mental Health Collective and provide ongoing clinical support and consultation to our therapists. I also oversee and run our student program, supporting emerging clinicians as they build confidence, competence, and ethical foundations in trauma-informed care.

Supporting therapists and students is an extension of my clinical work — because strong clinicians create safer, more effective care for clients.
