virtual trauma therapist Nikkita Stonner in her Denver office

Hello, I am Nikkita. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in virtual trauma therapist at  Denver Metal Health Collective , but you can think of me more as a Trauma Healer, Parenting Powerhouse, and Anxiety Wrangler.

I help people that have experienced life-altering events understand what happened to them and begin to heal from it.

My ideal clients are adolescents and adults that have experienced life altering events, and parents that feel overwhelmed and disengaged from their kids.

Virtual Trauma Therapist

Have you experienced a life-altering event that has left you feeling unlike yourself? Are you angry, sad, and confused? Waiting for the day that you don’t have to battle intrusive thoughts or worry about unwanted memories? I want to help you get there sooner.

It’s normal for daily life (relationships, work, free time) to feel much harder after experiencing a life-altering event. What happened to you is not your fault. I can’t make it so that it didn’t happen, and I so wish that I could, but I can help you understand what happened and the impact it’s having on your life. You deserve that and you don’t have to do it alone.

We’ll work together to sort through the sadness and anger so that it doesn’t control you anymore. Those scars that are leftover will heal. It’s going to be hard but I will never give up on you. Let’s get started on the next chapter of your story.

Parenting Powerhouse

Parenting is hard. I’ll say it again, PARENTING. IS. HARD. Is your little miracle starting to feel (just a little) less like a miracle? Feel helpless? Can’t help but feel like you and your kid just can’t seem to get it right? Well, then Welcome. You’re not alone and you can’t do it all on your own. We’re going to figure this out, together.

First, I promise you that I will never judge you. I’ve worked with hundreds of overwhelmed parents who feel like they have lost control of their kid. I don’t believe there are any bad kids, sometimes families just need some guidance and understanding to get through tough times.

Second, we’re going to need to change some things so I’m going to need you to trust me. I know it will take you some time and I’m used to that. I just like to be upfront so we can start working on getting some control back within your home as soon as possible.

Third, you can do this. Let me help you break free of the cycle of reacting to the tantrums or rebellion. I can teach you how to communicate better, set boundaries, and reconnect with your kiddo(s).

Lastly – and I can’t say this enough – parenting is hard – but it doesn’t have to be a constant battle for peace within your home. Let me show you some new skills that will fit into your family’s lifestyle. It doesn’t have to get worse before it gets better.

Anxiety and Depression Wrangler

I help teens and adults suffering from anxiety and depression in Denver to feel less anxious and happier in their lives. I find that when you’re able to relax and feel motivated, it increases your self-esteem and outlook on the future.

Your experience is valid and I want to hear it and everything that comes with it. We’ll work together to understand the source of your worries, fear, sadness, etc., so that you can get back to the things you love.

I’ll take the time to get to know you so that you’re comfortable sharing what life is like for you. Sometimes that might feel like just venting, but I hear it as unique self-expression. It’s your experience that is going to help us find a way to get you feeling more like you again.
